Chronic Fatigue Relief Named as the Most Practical of All Infrared Sauna Benefits

Posted by

Are you currently experiencing sleep problems? Do you feel body pains that are not caused by an existing injury? Do you often feel like your whole body is crashing down on you? While you might chalk these symptoms up to just being tired from school or work, it is entirely possible that you are one of the 2.5 million Americans suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome.

Infrared Sauna Benefits Include Relief from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

What is Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS)?

Formally known as myalgic encephalomyelitis, CFS is an illness that can affect the whole body. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), CFS is described as a feeling of severe fatigue that cannot be alleviated by sleep or rest. Therefore, those who suffer CFS can’t function normally. They ultimately risk becoming house- or bed-bound for long periods of time, thus keeping them from their jobs and necessary tasks at home.

The effect of CFS on the economy is devastating. According to a 2004 economic study, CFS attributes it to a 54 percent decline of labor force productivity and nearly 37 percent reduction in household productivity.

Infrared Sauna as treatment for CFS

Luckily for patients, alleviation from CFS is just one of many infrared sauna benefits. A recent study on the effects of a 15-minute infrared sauna session on patients suffering from CFS reveals a significant decrease in the perceived fatigue of patients. Another study reported a substantial improvement in attaining proper sleep among patients, and a lift in general mood after 20 sessions of infrared sauna therapy.

The findings resulted from using a short-form survey that based answers on a 1-10 scale. According to the study, patients experienced significant decreases in the average level of fatigue from 6.7 to an impressive 4.8.

These revealing results likely stem from the warmth of the unit, which promotes comfort and relaxation for CFS patients, who find their rest mode easier to attain than those CFS patients absent of infrared sauna therapy.

Infrared sauna therapy is also attributed to relieving pains throughout the body. Even if you are not suffering from CFS, but are hampered by body pains, the heat from the infrared can lend more pliancy to your body by relieving accumulated muscle stress. This makes the purchase of an infrared sauna worth the money. After all, good health equates to more productivity at work and home, and longevity in life.
